What a Character

What a Character!   His name is Puck, from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, a comedy written in 1595 by William Shakespeare.     I appreciate Shakespeare’s words so much more now than when I was in school.   And seeing it performed live, and especially outdoors locally, is a special treat.   The play about the “dream” contains four subplots and lots of strange characters.  But the more you know about it, the more enjoyable it is.   When Puck is on his mission, he makes a few mistakes, but “The course of true love never did run smooth.”

  1. It makes more sense when you see it acted. It should be compulsory to ‘see’ it when you study it at school.
